Sheena contacted HRS to find a new companion for Gracie, whose
companion had recently passed away. Gracie met several bunny boys
and Walter was her perfect
match. They are doing wonderfully and have already become fully
bonded, as you can see in the photo to the right . Thank you,
Sheena, for adopting again from HRS.

Little Bunnyluv was adopted by the Thorvick
family in December. They were referred to HRS by their neighbor,
when they expressed an interest in adopting a rabbit. The
family did their research to learn about caring for a rabbit and
then came to an HRS adoption day. We introduced them to
several rabbits but little Bunnyluv stole their hearts. You
can see how happy she is, here in her "holiday" photo with their
daughter, Kate. Thank you to the Thorvicks for adopting from
HRS and giving Bunnyluv a wonderful new home.

Little guy, Ace, was adopted
by the Waymire family, previous adopters from HRS. Mom decided
to make the adoption a holiday surprise for the kids, after she went
through our screening criteria. We were happy to help with
this surprise since the family is bunny-experienced and has a
history of lifetime commitment to their rabbit companions. We
wish Ace a long and happy life with his new family.

Penelope the big Rex girl,
was recently discovered to have a severe malocclusion of her front
teeth and HRS was asked to taker her from the shelter. We were
happy to help with her medical care but did not have room to house
Penelope, so we put out a "call for help" to our supporters. Sabrina
answered our plea. She stepped up and offered to adopt
Penelope and care for her chronic teeth issues. It is likely
that we will have Penelope's front teeth removed, but that's no
problem for Sabrina; she has experience caring for bunnies with
special needs. Sabrina and Penelope hit it off right away and
Penelope is now settling happily into her new home. Thank you,
Sabrina, for taking Penelope into your heart and your home.

Darling lop boy, Marley,
was adopted by Kathie and her family as a companion to their
bunny girl, Callie. An HRS volunteer, Kathie met little
Marley when helping out at one of our foster homes. It was
"love at first sight!" Being the little lover he is,
Marley was thrilled about going home with Kathie and her family,
and getting all the extra attention. After a week or two
of living side-by-side, Callie and Marley were introduced and
got along quite well. They are now a devoted couple who really
enjoy affection from each other. Many thanks to the Garis family
for giving little Marley the perfect new home!

wonderful new home! Eric and his parents have been
interested in adopting rabbits for some time. They visited
the HRS and several other good websites to learn about rabbit
care. We are grateful that they contacted San Diego HRS when it
came time to adopt. After meeting several different
rabbits, Eric decided that Foxy & Freddie were the best match
for him. They also seemed to enjoy Eric and getting a lot
of attention. Many thanks to the Woolsey family for
adopting from HRS.

for your young dwarf boy, Skipper (right). He met a few
bunny girls, but tiny bun Pixel was the perfect
match! They are adorable and sweet together and make the
cutest little couple! Thank you, Bev, for giving little
Pixel (now Molly) a wonderful new home. Can't wait to see them
in their stroller at Bunnyfest!
Dominic and Cassie were adopted a few
months ago to longtime HRS supporter, Leslie. Even
though she lives in Nevada now, Leslie keeps up on HRS
activities and needs, and when she was ready to bring
another bun into her life, she inquired about Dominic.
Since she preferred a bonded pair, it gave HRS the
opportunity to find a home for a second bun, Cassie.
We loved that! Cassie & Dominic are very content
in their new home and live a very spoiled life with mom,
Leslie, catering to their every need. Thank you,
Leslie for taking these two lovely buns into your heart.

Here's little Twinkle with her new bunny dad,
Aaron. She is happy to have her new home and has settled in
well. Dad says she's curious, loves to explore and to play in
the Cottontail Cottage. She's also not afraid of Aaron's
older kitty so that's good too! Congratulations on your new
home, Twinkle.
Update: Twinkle is now Pepper and has settled happily into her new
home.

| |

Casper, little bun on
the left, found a happy new home with bunny girl, Holimi.
She came with her mom., Gretchen, to find a friend to keep her
company at home. She liked Casper a lot. It took awhile for
her to get used to having him in her house, but now they are great
friends and love to do everything together. Thank you,
Gretchen and Holimi, for bringing Casper into your hearts and your
home.

Our May Open House was the scene of
this rabbit family's adoption. Cotton, on the left, came
with her family to have some fun (you can see the crafts she
helped with) and to meet a bunny boy named "Frederick" (on the
right). Happily, Cotton and Frederick got along well
and they went home as a happy couple. Many thanks to
Cotton and her family for giving Frederick a loving new home!

"groomer" of Sid and he's now pretty good about getting his grooming
several times a week. We thank Heather and Noah for taking little
Sid into their hearts.

Pretty Gracie (right) has gone to
a wonderful new home with a special friend, Bun Bun. Robin and
her family contacted HRS when their kitty friend passed away,
leaving their little bun boy sad and lonely. They felt he
needed a new friend and might enjoy a companion of his own species.
They visited an HRS foster home where their boy met several bunny
girls and he and Gracie really seemed to like each other. Back
home now, they are settling in and learning to get to know each
other a little better each day. We hope they are bonded soon and
wish Gracie and her new family many happy years together.

Little 'stinkers' find experienced bunny
home! Pinky (left) and Blueberry (right) are a
darling Dwarf Silver Marten pair who've been in foster care since
they were little bunny kits. Like most dwarf bunnies, they have
super active personalities and attitudes to match. They were a
perfect pair for longtime bunny parent, Rita Gee, and her husband
Ed. Rita is a very experienced bunny mom, with her last bunny
boy having lived a wonderful long life of 14 years. We knows these
little buns are in good hands and happy they found a wonderful home
with Rita and Ed. Congratulations to all and best wishes for
many happy years together.

Little Girl finds wonderful new
home! This pretty little Lion Head girl was abandoned at a
local vet office when the owners didn't want to spend the money for
her care. She is so adorable we can't understand how someone
could give her up. Lucky for the Garis family she became
available because she's the perfect bunny for them! Gentle and
sweet, Little Girl loved the attention she received from the Kathie
Garis and her 'men.' Now, she's a spoiled 'house' bunny with
everything she could ask for; most especially someone who loves her
unconditionally. Thank you, Garis family, for giving Little
Girl her 'forever' home.

Luca and Penelope are living the
'spoiled bunny' life with their new bun mom, Carol. Having
worked with SDHRS for several years, vet practice manager Carol
Chaney thought she might like to adopt. After perusing photos of
adoptable rabbits, Carol found a photo and description of Luca
(right) and felt she could offer him a good home. But, she wanted a
bonded pair. That's where HRS came in. We helped to find a
bunny companion for Luca and decided that Penelope (left; a rescue
from another vet office) might work. It was a good choice, and
Penelope and Luca bonded very quickly. Now they are happy
"house bunnies" living the good life! Many thanks to Carol for
coming to HRS for help in finding the perfect bunnies for her.
And, congrats to Luca and Penelope for finding their perfect forever
home! We wish you all many happy years together.

| |

Lucky boy, Lyle, found his
forever home! Little Lyle has been patiently waiting for just
the "right" bunny parents to come along. To help his search, we
brought him to our recent Open House where he met Mallory and
Travis. They had been thinking of adopting a bunny for some time, as
Mallory's family has had them for several years and she wanted one
of her own. Lyle thought they were a great match and showed it
by grooming Mallory! To top it all off, Mallory won the "big"
prize from the Open House Raffle; the fabulous new "Bunny Villa"
from KW Cages! Lyle traveled home in a 'fancy' bunny tote
(another prize from the raffle) and is now enjoying his fancy new
condo. We just know he's living the "spoiled bunny" life! Many
thanks to Travis for contacting HRS about adoption and for Mallory
for taking Lyle into her heart and home.
|
| |

Pretty girl, Bambi (right), was
the perfect match for handsome boy, Honey. When Honey's mom, Erin,
contacted HRS looking for a companion, she was drawn to Bambi's
photo and description. She and her husband Ryan came to our adoption
day to meet several bunny girls but Erin's hunch was right; Bambi
was a perfect match to Honey. They bonded very quickly and now
are a happy couple of spoiled 'house bunnies.' Many thanks to
Erin and Ryan for giving Bambi a loving new home.

| |

Little Frosty found a happy new
home with young couple, Kim and Kyle. They have been looking
for a little bun friend to add to their family and contacted HRS to
meet adoptable rabbits. We introduced them to several nice
bunnies, but Frosty clearly stole their hearts from the moment they
met him! Reports are positive, with Frosty all settled into
his new home in a roomy x-pen with plenty of toys!
Congratulations, Frosty, on your wonderful new home!
|
| |

Little cutie, Bucky, found a
wonderful new home with Joi Campbell and her family. Even
though he has some special needs because his front teeth have been
extracted, that didn't stop the Campbell's from falling completely
in love! Bucky has settled into his new home and loves zooming
around the family room during his play time. He enjoys interacting
with the children and they love to pet him and give him his fresh
greens. Thank you, Campbells, for giving Bucky a wonderful new
home!

Angelina and Theodore are a
darling pair of bunnies, adopted by volunteers Shirley and Anil, to
become companions. Angelina was their foster bun and they
decided to adopt her and get her a companion at the same time.
Luckily she had many wonderful bunny boys to choose from, and
Theodore was the little guy who got along with her best . Now,
they are a happily bonded pair of bunnies, loving their forever
home! Many thanks to Shirley and Anil for giving Angelina and
Theodore your heart and your home.

After a long romance, Tucker and
Dori are finally in the honeymoon phase! Dori's mom, Renee',
contacted HRS to get help in finding her a bunny boy companion.
We introduced Dori to several boys and she seemed to like Tucker the
best. So home they went! The bonding ws a bit rough as
Dori was reluctant to give up her hard-earned space at home.
Eventually she learned to share, and the bunnies learned to have fun
together, and they finally became a pair. Yay! Many thanks to
Renee' and Dori for giving Tucker a loving new home.

| |

Handsome boy, Kei (center) found
a wonderful new home with Kathy and her daughter, Mercedes, and
their bunny pair Sushi and Sashi. Mercedes met Kei at a recent kids
volunteer event and wanted to give him a home. But with two other
bunnies at home she and mom, Kathy, weren't sure if they would get
along. They visited HRS at a recent adoption day and the
bunnies did great! Kei seems very content with his new friends and
Sashi is happy to have another boy to boss around. :) Many
thanks to Kathy and Mercedes for giving sweet boy, Kei, a wonderful
new home.

Pretty Tinkerbell, met darling
boy, Smokey, at our March 1 adoption day and it was love at first
sight! HRS volunteer Cathy, and her husband Robert, were
looking for a companion for their bunny boy, Smokey. Though
seemingly content, they felt that Smokey really needed a companion
of his own kind. When Smokey visited our adoption day he met
several nice bunny girls but he and Tinkerbell felt an instant
attraction. They bonded very quickly and Tinkerbell is now
happily exploring her new home with Smokey leading the way. We
appreciate Cathy and Robert for giving Tinkerbell a wonderful new
home and wish them all many happy years together.

Jack and Sugar
have finally found
their forever home! Isabel is an experienced rabbit 'mom' who
has been without bunny companions for a while and was ready to hear
the sound of soft little bunny feet in her home again. She
contacted HRS and checked out our adoptable rabbits online.
Several pairs interested her, but Jack & Sugar were just what she
was hoping for and when she met them in person it was 'love at first
sight!' Lucky bunnies Jack & Sugar have their own 'bunny room' with
lots of free run in their new home. They are settling in well
and are happy in their new home with Isabel.

wonderful new home and a darling bunny girlfriend! We're happy
to report that our big English Lop boy, "Lops," is now in his new
home and getting all the attention he deserves. Not only is he

TONS of love and pets and a lot of run time. He has a nice

Julia, Bill and Skyler for giving our boy, Lops, a wonderful new
home!

Little Roxanne met sweet bunny
boy, Shadow, at our recent HRS adoption day. Shadow had
recently lost his companion and came to see if he could find a
friend to snuggle. He met several nice girls but Roxanne was

Our recently adopted bunny boy, Casey
(left) lost his new companion who passed away unexpectedly.
After giving him a bit of time to grieve, his parents brought him
back to find a new bunny girl companion. There, he met J.J.
and it was a renewal of a previous relationship. Casey and JJ used
to be "next door neighbors," from their original foster home.
The two bunnies welcomed each other immediately and began to
snuggle. It was so sweet! JJ went home with Casey and
they bonded immediately. They now hang out together under the dining
room table; Casey's favorite spot! Many thanks to the Goodwin
family for giving our two foster bunnies a loving new home. We wish
many years of happiness to JJ and Casey, and their new bunny
parents.

family at a recent HRS adoption day. The Wolfs are new to
bunnies but decided their family was ready for a new pair of family
companions. They studied about the care of rabbits and contacted HRS
to find the perfect bunnies for them. At our adoption day,
they met several nice rabbit pairs and decided on charming

Bunny boy, Mopsy (left), had recently
lost his companion so mom and dad, Del and Thomas, contacted HRS to
help ease his loneliness. The three visited our recent
adoption day where Mopsy was introduced to several bunny girls.
He was really taken with Alyssa and she responded very well
to his affection. Happily, Alyssa (now named Francesca), is now
in her wonderful new home. Del and Thomas report that she's settling
in well, and showing off some great bunny dances to charm her new
family. Many thanks to Mopsy and family for contacting HRS and
for giving sweet Alyssa a wonderful new home!
|
| |

Little Ricky found a wonderful
new home with the Eckmann family at a recent adoption event. Sarah
Eckmann had been wanting a bunny companion for a long time. After
studying about rabbit care with her mom, Sarah was giving an
"adoption gift certificate" by her parents at Christmas, so she
could come to HRS and meet bunnies needing new homes. Sarah met so
many nice bunnies she had a hard time deciding, but Ricky was
clearly a perfect match for her. We look forward to hearing
how Ricky is settling into his new home. We know he is already loved
by his new family and will be well-spoiled with lots of attention,
love and toys.
|
| |

Sweet bunny, Michael (on right),
was recently returned to HRS when his family's situation changed.
Sadly, he'd also just lost his bunny girl companion. Luckily for
Michael, one of our foster homes was considering adding a third
bunny to her pair, and we just "knew" that Michael would be the
perfect choice. Maria took Michael home and with time,
patience, and plenty of bonding "dates" it only took about a month
for the threesome to become a bonded group. Now Michael has
companionship and the loving home he so deserves. Thank you,
Maria, for giving Michael a wonderful new home and the companionship
of bunnies Bogart and Esther. He's in a special place now.

learning the life of a spoiled love bun! Many thanks to
Virginia and Emily for giving little Comet a loving new home.
