Bunnies love fresh hay! Be sure to
provide an ample supply they can nibble whenever they like. Hay fiber is the best defense
against intestinal blockages. The House Rabbit Hay Exchange offers fresh hay and grasses at a reasonable price. For just $10 you get a good-sized box (10-12 lbs) filled with a healthy mix of hays. Plan ahead.
Don't let your hay supply run out before trying to buy more. Just some gentle reminders:
- Hay sales provide valuable income for
the HRS. The money supports our spay/neuter efforts and the veterinary care for our foster
bunnies, many of whom you, our readers, have adopted.
- Hay
is boxed and distributed by HRS volunteers
- Please be patient with people at our
distribution sites, as they cannot control whether there is hay available when you get
there.
- Call ahead to see if there is hay, but
remember that hay is sold on a first come, first served basis.
Hay and a good litter make a great litterbox combo. CareFRESH is a remarkably
absorbent, environmentally sensitive litter. Here are sources for both hay and CareFRESH
(unless noted otherwise).
Note: These are
the only locations, from which hay is sold , which directly benefit HRS and its rescue work
with rabbits. Please purchase your hay from these locations to support our goals of Rescue
/ Adoption / Education. The bunnies thank you!
