San Diego House Rabbit Society has supported our community through education about responsible rabbit care, spaying/neutering, and adoption. We are a 501(c)(3) volunteer-driven nonprofit organization, which depends on donations from our community to fund our work. Please support us in our goals of rescue, adoption, and education. Our federal identification number is 65-1262427. Please use our legal name, San Diego Companion Rabbit Society, Inc., and this ID number when making any charitable contributions to our organization. Your donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

 

Monthly Support

Can't adopt, no time to volunteer but you still want to help?

It costs San Diego HRS $1 a day to care for each bunny. That's $30 a month per bunny. You can help us ensure that every bunny in our shelter lives comfortably until they find their forever home - through sponsorship.

For just $30 per month, you can support a San Diego House Rabbit Society bunny. Bunnies at SDHRS stay as long as the need is there, receiving plenty of love and companionship until they find loving families of their own. Monthly supporters help bunnies find loving homes, and provide food and shelter.  

Because our caregivers are very busy providing daily care and enrichment for all of the bunnies in our system, they are not able to provide updates on demand for sponsored animals at this time.  We will do our best to update our sponsors through a monthly newsletter for our monthly supporters.

By becoming a member, you support the important work of the San Diego House Rabbit Society;  your support allows us to do what we do best–help rabbits. We receive no government support, and all of our donations come from people who love rabbits. Please consider joining us!

Donate at the Bunnystore

Monetary gifts allow us the maximum flexibility to buy the materials we need to maintain the rescued rabbits in our system, promote their adoption, and produce education materials. Donations to our medical or spay/neuter funds help spay or neuter more than 300 shelter rabbits each year and provide emergency and ongoing medical care for rabbits who have nowhere else to receive the help they need.

Donations can be made in cash or by credit card at our Bunny Store, 4807 Mercury Street, Suite A, San Diego 92111, on the days we are open for store pick up; Sunday - Saturday, 12 to 5:00 p.m.

Shopping at Costco, Target or Walmart?

Pick up an item or two to donate to the shelter rabbits. Below are the supplies that we use on a daily basis to keep the rabbits safe and clean:

  • Laundry soap (any of the “eco” brands)

  • Nitrile exam gloves (size S)

  • Paper towels

  • Toilet paper

  • Kleenex

  • Copy paper

  • Puppy pads

  • Trash bags – 33 gallon

  • Trash bags - 50 gallon

  • “Kitchen” trash bags – 13 gallon

  • Postage stamps

  • Lysol Wipes

  • Professional Spray Bottles

  • Gallon Ziplock Bags

  • Vegetables for the Rabbits - cilantro, italian parsley, spring mix
