Please note, this self-guided lesson is required for all potential adopters.

Our objective in offering this self-guided House Rabbit Fundamentals lesson is to set realistic expectations so you feel prepared to have a pet house rabbit in your home.  If you are choosing to adopt from San Diego House Rabbit Society, you will be required to take a short quiz to take at the end of the course.  Please watch each video carefully because there are questions in the quiz that are referenced in the videos. Once you submit the completed quiz to us,  we will schedule a zoom session with an adoption counselor to go over the adoption process. You must be 21 years of age to adopt. If you are under 21 and live at home, please have a parent or guardian complete the form with you. Your parent or guardian (21 or older) will be the person required to sign the legal adoption contract. We adopt only to homes where the rabbit is housed as an indoor family companion, this means no outdoor living or patio living. This is an SDHRS policy and philosophy. If you plan on adopting from SDHRS, please do not buy your housing before you meet with an adoption counselor. Your adoption counselor will go over all of this during your meeting.
